KNX RF / ENO Window Sensor 490 secure
The KNX RF / ENO Window Sensor 490 secure is a compact and not visible window sensor for detecting the status of windows, whether open, closed or tilted. The sensor is compatible with most tilt and turn fittings for windows or balcony doors with concealed hinges.
The wireless sensor can detect not only attempted break-ins but also glass breakage. The alarm is triggered both via radio and via the integrated acoustic alarm.
The data is transmitted wirelessly via KNX RF or EnOcean.
The device supports KNX Data Security and EnOcean Security.

How the window sensor works
The KNX RF / ENO Window Sensor 490 secure is installed in the window rebate. It is therefore not visible when the window is closed. Installation is self-adhesive using a supplied mounting aid for positioning.
During operation, the sensor evaluates the position of the locking bolt via small light barriers. In addition, the device contains an acceleration sensor that can detect both vibrations during a break-in attempt and glass breakage.
This makes the KNX RF / ENO Window Sensor 490 secure far superior to typical window contacts with magnetic switches, both visually and functionally.
KNX RF or EnOcean
The KNX RF / ENO Window Sensor 490 secure communicates using either KNX RF or EnOcean. EnOcean is preset in the delivery state. Activating the programming mode switches the device to KNX. If a download is then performed using the ETS, the device remains in KNX mode. A master reset restores the device to its factory settings and switches it back to the EnOcean protocol.
The device supports KNX Data Security and EnOcean Security.
The connection to the KNX bus can be made via our KNX RF/TP Couple 673.1 secure or via our KNX ENO Gateway 626 or 636.
Energy saving & heating control
Automatic heating reduction: When a window is opened, the sensor sends a signal to the room temperature controllers to reduce the heating in order to avoid wasting energy when ventilating.
Air conditioning control: Similar to heating, air conditioning systems can be switched off automatically when a window is open.
Smart automation
Light control: When a balcony door (or window) is opened, the light in the room or on the balcony can be switched on automatically.
Natural ventilation: When a window is opened, the roller shutters are also raised to allow air to circulate.
Terrace door lock: Prevents smart roller shutters from closing when the terrace door is still open (protection against being locked out).
Security & burglary protection
Status monitoring (open/tilted): You can see whether windows are tilted or fully open, which is ideal for checking that everything is secure while you’re away.
Burglary alarm: If a window or door is opened by force while the system is armed, the sensors trigger an alarm.
Notification on your smartphone: Users receive a message when a window is opened while they are not at home.
Special applications
Extractor hood control: Window contact switches are often essential to ensure that an extractor hood only works when the window is open to provide sufficient fresh air.
Safety for children/pets: Detect when a window or balcony door is opened without authorisation by children.
